This is how to dance the tango!
Feel the blood rise to your face with every beat, while an arm winds like a snake around a waist that is about to break. This is how to dance the tango!
From 'This is How to dance the Tango' / Words by Elizardo Villas / Music by Elias Randall, 1942.
…the tango is rather like love in the afternoon
Naughty, but nice. Something for many (though by no means all!) to dream about, but not necessarily indulge in. For the fact is that the tango is not just a dance. In its purest form it's a sensual couplingforged by raw emotion. The closest thing you'll find to a vertical expression of a horizontal desire..
Angela Rippon, 'Vertical expression of a Horizontal Desire', 1993
What do you think makes a good tango dancer?
Steps in Tango are much less important, than musicality and your feelings transferred into your movements. What do you think makes a good tango dancer? In my opinion: musicality, posture and gracefulness, elegancy and sexuality, leading and following technique and only finally steps you know.
In my lessons I will try to concentrate on your presentation and quality of your movements, that what really is making your dancing beautiful. Put your soul , heart and light into your dance and do it very gently and delicately. There is no place for sloppiness in Tango.
With time passing by you will see changes in how you walk, your posture, your look and the main thing - you will feel the life differently. Tango is a sicknesses, which gets into you and never leaves you.
